HW10, Due 9/16: “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?”

Our introductions and the baseline writing piece are behind us, so Monday we dive into the year’s curriculum. We will begin class by concluding our Nafisi quotation discussion (groups 4 and 5).  Then, we begin our short story unit.

1. Print out and read Joyce Carol Oates’ “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?”  Remember, this text, just as all others read this year, must be annotated.

2. Research and take notes on Joyce Carol Oates.  These notes should be written in you binder.  As you are researching Oates, consider what details are important to understanding/appreciating her writing.  Note those details.

Also, you must have all supplies!  When you come into class EVERY day, you begin by taking out your binder and taking out the day’s reading!  So be prepared!
