Due 6/12: PBA Final Draft

1. PBA–Final Draft/Comparative Essay

The following are due Monday:

  • TWO COPIES of your PBA essay (one for me and one for your partner).
  • Edited first draft with your editor’s name clearly marked at the bottom of the first page.
  • Cover Letter
  • Index cards! Hopefully you have been generous with your kindness. Remember to write the name of the recipient on the back of each card but keep your name off!

Due 6/12: PBA Final Draft

1. PBA–Final Draft due! 5-7 pages analysis of Steppenwolf or Nausea.

  • Remember, you  must bring in two copies of your final draft (one for me and one for your partner).
  • Also, you are expected to bring in your edited first draft.
  • Be sure to include a works cited page with your essay.
  • Be sure you have included at least three sources.

A Poet Study on
Your Poet’s Name

A 1-2 page mini-bio of your poet.

A 5-7 page essay that introduces and analyzes the work of your poet, including a strong claim (a thesis) about your poet and his/her work. In this analysis you should demonstrate great control of your poet’s work. Finally, your discussion must be complemented by 3 primary or secondary sources (critical/analytical in nature).

The 10 poems (untouched) chosen for this project.

Two original poems mirroring your poet’s style.

Bibliography

As an appendix: Annotated copies of the ten poems chosen for this project.

Notes:

  1. Start numbering with the second page and number through the two original poems.
  2. Quote at least six of the ten poems in your essay.
